Standard Test Block all Leeb type test probes except G type.
They are 3.5 inches in diameter and 2.25 inches thick and weigh 6 lbs.
Standard calibration blocks for a bench tester should NOT be used, as they are only .375 inch thick and weigh less than 1 lb. Both too thin and too light for accurate Leeb testing.
Test block D is calibrated in accordance with the dynamic hardness value L ( Leeb number ) by the factory.
The hardness of the block is etched onto the top of the block in the values for HLD, HLC, HRC, HV and tolerance.
Standardized according to JJG747-1999, ASTM A956-02,DIN 50156.
The replacement block that is included in most Leeb type hardness tester kits is Hardness 790 +/-40 HLD
