NOTE: Rebound type testers are NOT suitable for thin, lightweight parts like sheet metal, knives, bolts, nuts, washers, etc.

The D type probe comes standard with this device. Note you cannot exchange for another probe type.
If you are testing parts that are thinner than its capabilities, you might want to consider adding a C type probe.

We purchased this hardness tester for checking larger parts that would not fit on our standard Rockwell testers. It has performed well for the applications that we needed. Great tester very accurate results. Take heed to the fact this is not for small parts or parts with thin cross section. If it weighs 10 plus pounds you will get accurate results! We had to get a Wilson type tester to do our smaller tooling parts.
As an engineer tasked with designing and qualifying oil and gas equipment, quality is paramount. This unit is great for providing and accurate gut check on components. It is fast, accurate and great for checking parts remotely. I would highly recommend it.
