UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) for ultrasonic hardness testing.

For this method the test indentation size that of the Vickers diamond is not evaluated optically but measured electronically when the corresponding test load is reached. This measurement process is performed in a fraction of a second.

Sometimes called modified Vickers Method UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) is standardized in ASTM A1038 or DIN 50159-1/-2 respectively and is also described in the guide VDI/VDE 2616.
